Knowing, belonging, becoming.
A two-day immersive retreat. Four explorations. One invitation: to stop walking someone else’s path, and start becoming your own.
Be the path
Elephants walk through the dense jungles of the Western Ghats forging a path in seemingly impossible terrain. Massive footprints tracing a trail where there was none. To the naked eye it feels as if the herd left a trail of ruin, but those that know the jungle understand: each footprint seeds the regeneration of the forest.
As a herd passes through, branches fall, shrubbery is crushed, the grass is trampled. This formidable animal is not an omen of destruction but a harbinger of life. This is a powerful example, a lived experience, that explains regeneration.
To regenerate is not to return to an imagined past, but to restore the capacity for life to flourish in ever-evolving ways. It asks us to move beyond rigid definitions and rediscover our belonging within the greater web of life. Regeneration lives in relationships, between people, species, ancestors, ecosystems, and the unseen worlds that guide them.
A provocation
In which ways are you seeding regeneration in your daily life? Do you walk the pre-carved path of perceived safety, diminishing your own power to influence? Shaking the cup just enough for it to move, but never spilling what is inside. Can you access the true power of regeneration, feel deep into the interdependent network of life, and see a limitless future which transcends the options that modernity has laid out for us?
Regeneration invites us to embrace wonder rather than control, plurality rather than uniformity, and embodied wisdom along with information. Ultimately, regeneration is a way of being: a daily practice of reciprocity, reverence, and participation in the wild unfolding of life.
Our ethos is rooted in the understanding that regeneration is not something to be manufactured, owned, or imposed, but something ancient that already exists within all life. We believe that every community, ecosystem, and species carries its own wisdom, shaped through deep relationships with place, ancestry, memory, and the living Earth.
We reject the illusion that there is only one path forward, choosing instead to listen to the countless ways life has learned to thrive across cultures, landscapes, and worlds of knowing. We hold space for mystery, intuition, and unknowability, recognising that not all wisdom can be measured or defined.
Regeneration does not lie with a single person, a community, a company, a race, or an organisation. There is no goal to achieve. It keeps moving, evolving, shapeshifting, adapting. We need to find our little notch in this vast and expansive mosaic and journey with it, because we are regeneration.
You are regeneration. I am regeneration. We are all regeneration.
The retreat
There is a phenomenal amount of content out there that explains regeneration. Much of it is beautiful, expansive, inspiring and foundational. Everything sounds perfect in theory and abstraction, but how do we actually start embodying it, practicing it, braiding it into our fundamental being? That is exactly what we address in this retreat.
We don’t offer escapes. We create the conditions for emergence. A space where the intelligence of the mind meets that of the body and starts enmeshing with the wisdom of the wild and the ancestral.
Regeneration Trails is where we germinate together. Where knowledge metamorphoses into practice and practice matures into being. This is where you take the first step into becoming Regeneration.
Our work
Separately and together, Nisha Mary Poulose and Lua Couto have designed and held spaces where regeneration emerges and takes life. Their portfolio of experience spans a decade of work creating workshops, retreats, and conferences in the USA, Brazil, Europe, and India.
Their last retreat was a 5-day ‘Regenerative Futures Retreat’ for Unearthodox, which convened 40+ leaders, practitioners, artists, and funders from over 15 countries. Five days of inquiry that generated a collective roadmap for systemic transformation — a space of life, of healing, and of imagination, rooted in plural epistemologies, body-based integration, and narrative regeneration. It saw the presence of curated guides such as Bayo Akomolafe, Bill Sharpe, and Marika Heinrichs.

The journey
There is a moment when all the parts of you finally catch up with each other, and with where you are. We weave an environment that births that moment.
You don’t have to do anything to be. You just have to stop leaving.
We begin slowly. A drink. A silence that is not filled. The weight of what you have been carrying is named out loud, not so it can be solved, but so it can be set down. Maybe you notice a kind of relief you had not expected, maybe new types of energy enter to bring in tranquility.
When you are ready to transition into the next moments, something feels shifted. It feels as if a window you forgot was closed is now open, and the air is moving in, bringing with it a freshness that you did not know you needed.
Slowing is your welcome, your arrival to the space, your readiness to be.
Beneath the self that knows and evidences, perfects and performs, lives the self that simply is. What did you know before you layered yourself in information? What do we have to unknow, to access wisdom?
There is a version of you that arrived here prepared. That has the vocabulary, the frameworks, the earnest intention. This space is an invitation to set that down for a moment. Not because it isn’t valuable. But because underneath it lives something that doesn’t need measurements and data to be true.
When we stop trying to move past discomfort, but rather move into it, surprising new worlds open up. Guilt, shame, fear, anger, sadness — this is a space where we visit what we tend to avoid with curiosity, rather than resistance. We lean into the spaciousness revealed on the other side. This is remembering, like walking into a room in the house you have always lived in, but somehow stopped entering.
Get familiar with something older and quieter within yourself that is revealed when you remove the hubris of knowing.
Wilderness is intuitive, it is ancestry, it is instinct. In the colonial endeavour to control and dominate, we first tame ourselves. But there is a wild thread in you, connected to the ancestry of the Earth, of each other. We enter this space bravely, with joy, with excitement.
There is a chaotic and indeterminate force within you that resists being pinned down or defined. It embodies the unknowable essence of life and regeneration. It transcends human-centric systems and introduces a dimension of unpredictability and creativity that is integral to the system’s vitality.
This is a realm of possibility, giving access to true innovation. It sits within unknowability, it is messy, but it is powerful, and undeniable.
We work together to unravel the layers that mask the wilderness in you. In collective weaving, the path emerges. This is a reweaving, a rewilding.
The future is moving through you, right now. It is a part of you and you give it shape and voice.
Here we create space for the future to emerge within you, as you. Regeneration Trails is conceived with the ethos that each of us are Regeneration, that each of us holds a piece of the vision, and that in choosing to move as wilderness with trust and humility, the path we leave behind is the fertile bed for the next generation of regeneration to emerge.
How do we remember the regeneration within us? It is not a performance or a mission, but it is us. You and I are Regeneration. Together we explore what that means. What does this acceptance, this wisdom allow us to unburden? Where does it point us to? What are our responsibilities?
Here we gently nurture the conditions for you to notice where vitality moves in you naturally, and play with the weaves between the future, the past, and the many realms of the present.
What does it mean to be the trail? What does it mean to be Regeneration? Here we begin the journey: of slowing, of unknowing, of wilderness and regeneration.
The retreat does not end on the second day. It begins there.

From the Regeneration Trails ethos
This is not a workshop. There is no certificate, no takeaway deck. What you leave with is harder to name: a felt sense of how regeneration moves through a body, a community, a moment.
